These classes are tailored for the high school to Adult student. They will explore different styles of music and how they have been influenced by history and culture of that era in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Music Appreciation Classes: Fall 2016

 

Overview of Early Western European Music.

The influence of the culture and political climate on the art form of music will be explored and discussed along with listening to music of the composers ( Arcangelo Corelli, Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel and JS Bach) from this time period will be highlighted. Of specific interest will be the development and transition of sacred and secular music. This class runs for 12 weeks and is an hour and a half.

Class piano

Class Piano 1 will be offered for beginning piano students.  These classes are designed for the high school age students to adult and are done in a group setting. Basic skills of music reading and playing will be part of the class.  No prior experience in music is necessary but a piano, or access to one, is necessary for the student to practice on between classes.  Books are the responsibility of the student and can be ordered online.  This class runs for 12 weeks and is an hour long.
